Factory Hamlet

I think I'd like to see this!

The Factory’s Hamlet is one of the more celebrated fixtures of London’s theatrical underground. Every Sunday, a company of actors pitch up at a different location, each with a selection of learned roles at their fingers ends. Parts are allotted randomly, and each performance develops in response to the given space, with the aid of props brought along by the audience.

Oooooh. I think my friend Alex has done this. they staged something inside an old aqueduct water transfer building in london. it was narrow and tall, and the audience and actors were all in the same tiny spot.

alex gets a lot of inspiration from this kind of wacky shakespeare -- and he's directing our Romeo & Juliet productions, so he's totally applying unique twists to the production (ie: romeo will play juliet; juliet will play romeo, but their clothes won't change... it isn't a drag show).
