Shakespeare Meteors
"These exhalations whizzing in the air/ Give so much light that I might read by them."The Lyrid Meteor Shower peaks right on top of Shakespeare's Birthday, and Kevin Lollar was nice enough to walk us through some of Shakespeare's meteor references, such as the above quote from Julius Caesar. After all, if the Chinese documented them in 673 BC, why couldn't Richard II offer some comment?

My thoughts on the meteor bombardment in Julius Caesar:
Foreboding, supernatural, frightening, are the three words that come to my mind while I was reading. Though I have never seen the movie or a play, Shakespeare painted this metaphorical picture quite vividly in my mind.
