Speaking of All's Well...

I just happened to see a review roll through my feeds today.  This one was in Cleveland, and neither the production nor the source material get a particularly good review.

Georgia Shakespeare is mounting All's Well this summer in Atlanta; it will be the first time I get to see the play on stage. Here's hoping they make a better job of it! I think the trick is to bring out Bertram's good qualities--he is, after all, courageous and capable, winning resepect and honor in the wars--and the growth that he undergoes after his illusions about Parolles are stripped from him. I am inclined to think that Bertram is a different person in Act V than he was in Act I--and he's certainly had a big lesson on not treating Helena badly!
