What Are You Doing For Shakespeare Week?

Ok, I’m back from vacation and we’re coming up fast on Shakespeare’s birthday.  Got plans?  I hope to put out a plethora of posts over the next couple days (last year I want to say I did 10 posts on April 23 alone), so stick with me!

  1. I'll be performing in Romeo and Juliet for Prime Stage Theater, down in Pitsburgh. Specifically, with two performances on the 23rd. I'm also really kicking into gear for a production of As You Like It that I'll be directing.

  2. I'll be directing another week of rehearsals for Comedy of Errors, a North Fulton Drama Club production opening in Roswell, GA, on May 7. (http://www.northfultondramaclub.org/wordpress/2010/04/18/comedy-of-errors/)

  3. We'll be previewing a new production of Hamlet and gearing up for the annual Shakespeare's Birthday Open House on Sunday from noon - 4pm - lots of great Bard-inspired games, performances, crafts, and free cake for all! Monday night, 4/26, Jonathan Bate delivers the Birthday lecture on "The Good Life in Shakespeare." Both the Open House and Lecture are free!

I'm currently teaching two Shakespeare classes. The younger kids will be performing 'The Tempest' twice this week. The older kids have 3 rehearsals for 'Midsummer Night's Dream' and Bard's Birthday Bash on Friday!
